Isn't it ironic that a chickadee of all birds would cite that poem of Emily Dickinson's? I mean, come on! Chickadees, jays, nuthatches, finches--they're all beggars. Even crows and ravens will sneak in and steal stuff from people. Take it from a real bird--one with a little pride! We shrikes don't need no stinkin' crumbs from anyone. And one more thing--we eat chickadees for lunch! (But maybe not that Gray Jay!)
